Colorado Visions Art Exhibit

The Colorado Visions Art Exhibit is held each spring at Westminster City Hall.  The first show was held in 1998!  This is a juried show which is open to any artist in Colorado age 18 and over.  Artists can submit up to 3 digital entries for consideration by the juror.  A gala Awards Reception is held for the public and the artists.  All art work is for sale.  The dates of the show are from mid April to the end of May. A prospectus will be available in early January.  

 

26th Annual Colorado Visions Art Exhibit will be April 14 - May 19, at the College Hill Library.

Eligibility

Open to all artists residing in Colorado, 18 years of age or older.

Media ; Any 2 dimensional fine art media including fine art photography. Sculpture which is decorative 3 dimensional art made from clay, bronze, wood, or other approved materials.Paintings must be original and not copied from any copyrighted material or photographs except those taken by the artist.  No computer art.  No giclee’ prints.No nudes will be accepted.  Collage materials must be created by the artist.  The artist’s signature should appear on the front of the painting.  Works cannot have been previously exhibited at College Hill Library.  NMAA reserves the right to refuse any painting that does not comply with the requirements stated in the prospectus. In case of question the judge’s decision will be final.

Entries Each artist may submit up to 3 entries of original works.

Fees. NMAA Members: $35 for up to 3 entries. Non-members:  $45 for up to 3 entries

Cash awards and ribbons.

Presentation of entriesAll art works must be delivered ready to display.  Wall hung work must have wire for hanging in place.  No sawtooth hangers.Each piece must be identified on the bottom or back with artist name, address, phone number, title, price, and medium.Art work that is delivered chipped, cracked, damaged, dirty, or with improper presentation or with incomplete information on the back will not be accepted. Entries may not have been previously exhibited at the College Hill Library or in a NMAA exhibit.

Sales - A 20% commission on all sales will be collected.

Presentation. All works that require glass over 28” in any direction, must be under clear plexiglass.  All works must be framed on the outside perimeter with suitable well reinforced frames except for wrapped canvases.  Paintings must be ready for hanging with hardware and wires in place, and the ID label firmly attached to the back.  Labels will be include with acceptance materials.

Liability Utmost care will be taken in handling paintings, however, neither the NMAA, it’s representatives, nor the City of Westminster will be responsible  for any damage to any art or entries submitted to the exhibition.

Sunday,April 14 - 1 to 2:00 - Hand deliver entries to the College Hill Library, 3705 W. 112th Ave.,Westminster.Jurying will begin at 2:00. Artists with unaccepted pieces will be called by 2:30. Artists will need to pick up any rejects. Tuesday, April 23 - 5 to 8:00 Reception and Award presentation Sunday, May 19 - 1 to 3:00 - Take down show and pick up art work
